With the Prius in the body shop still, the Camry has once again become the daily driver. Being the daily driver means getting dirty. Getting dirty means well being cleaned. Usually that just requires a little bit of elbow grease and some time. Until you use the wrong stuff.
I had been given a bottle of the Meguiars Mirror Bright quick detail and tried it with such good results that when we restocked some of our supplies we decided to try more of the Mirror Bright line. That was a giant mistake. After all of the time it took me to strip and refinish these wheels it was destroyed in the time it took to walk around the car. I sprayed them down one at a time and by the time I made it back to the beginning they had orange stains running down them. I of course started rinsing right away, but it was too late. After several hours trying multiple different rubbing compounds I settled on the Mother Mag Polish as my best bet. Two different sessions at several hours each plus the addition of some white wax had the wheels looking less terrible, but still far from how they looked just a few days earlier. Time to call Meguiars.
